Autoregisteret is a Norwegian automotive-tech company focused on making vehicle records more transparent and reliable. Its platform helps car owners and workshops manage service histories, repairs, and documentation in one secure place. The client partnered with PettersonApps to turn this vision into a complete digital product, from UX/UI design to development and integrations.

Everything you need to know.
We built Autoregisteret, a Norwegian platform where car owners keep all of a vehicle’s documentation in one place. It holds registration data, VIN, mileage, service history and maintenance reminders. Owners can share access with garages and insurers or transfer it to them. The work covered:
- the web app (React) and the backend API (NestJS)
- Vipps subscriptions, with automatic PDF receipts
- BankID identity verification
- an integration with macsDIA, which fills in service records from garage inspection reports
A responsive web app that works on desktop, tablet and mobile browsers and is ready to install as a PWA. It’s backed by a cloud API on AWS. Users can sign in with Vipps, and garages get their own accounts.
Users confirm who they are with BankID through Signicat. The platform then checks the national vehicle registry (Statens Vegvesen) over a secure Maskinporten connection to confirm the person is the registered owner. The national ID number is only used for that check and is never stored, in line with GDPR.
